What is Emblemtek's policy on trademarked designs and logo owenership?

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure they have all the required rights to use, copy, transmit, modify and/or reproduce licensed or un-licensed logos, designs, emblems, graphics, electronic data, physical samples or other intellectual property provided to Emblemtek for the creation of artwork, emblems, embroidery, transfers or imprinted images. The purchaser will assume all liability and/or legal responsibility for any infringements and/or damages that may arise from such use. Unless paid for, the designs and/or file formats created for production purposes will remain the property of Emblemtek for resale to the purchaser. What are the acceptable design formats for submitting artwork?

Preferred file types can be saved in .ai .eps . pdf .jpg .png or .cdr formats. Please refer to the individual TekSpec® of each product for a complete list.

What if my design has an excessive amount of detail or small lettering?

Some products are better suited for designs with small text and fine detail. In embroidery, some small details may be lost or altered and text may be changed or simplified. For designs with lots of small text or details SubliPrint or woven may be a viable alternative.

How do I choose design colours?

Most products have fabric and thread charts available, however there are products where colours can be referenced from the Pantone® matching system. Colour Charts

Can I get a copy of my badge design as a graphic or embroidery file?

We do not offer any type of graphic file other than the files sent for artwork approval. If you have ordered an embroidered crest, a copy of the DST file is available for a nominal fee.

Will an image from a website work for my artwork?

Yes, as long as the resolution and quality is high enough.

Why do the colours on a printed artwork approval form look different than the colours on my computer screen?

Display colours vs print colours may differ for a lot of reasons. Most notably display colours use an RGB (red, green, blue) colour model while the clear majority of printers use CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). Further to this, every monitor displays colours differently and can be significantly affected by external factors such as brightness, contrast, saturation, colour effects etc…
Colour charts are available for accurate colour representation.

What does "embroidery coverage" mean?

Embroidery coverage is a representation of the amount of embroidered area within an embroidered emblem design. Coverage is relative to the amount embroidered versus the areas not embroidered. For example, if 25% of the base emblem fabric is visible, then the emblem has 75% embroidery coverage. An emblem that is completely embroidered, with no fabric showing, would be 100% embroidered.

Do you offer individual names and numbers?

We offer individual text name emblems, ideal for front chest application. These emblems can be embroidered or sublimated with a standard font in block or script letter and numbers. There is no minimum for this type of emblem.
